barewood-oak-herringbone-engineered-wood-flooring
Barewood Oak 125mm Engineered Herringbone

Barewood Oak does what its name suggests: it keeps the look of freshly cut, untreated oak while still being finished and protected. The blocks are 125mm wide, set in a herringbone, with a 4mm real oak top layer.

Look and character

It is a light floor with soft beige tones, closer to raw timber than to a yellow or golden oak. The invisible smooth oiled finish is designed to add very little visible colour, so the surface stays pale and matt and feels smooth underfoot. Rustic grade means knots, grain movement and natural marks appear across the floor, adding character to an otherwise calm, pale colour. It works well in bright rooms, Scandinavian-style schemes and alongside white or sage-painted joinery.

Construction and specification

Larger 125mm by 600mm blocks suit bigger rooms and open-plan spaces, where a small pattern can look fussy. With a 2V bevel on the long sides, the zigzag lines are defined but the floor still looks fairly flush. Under the 4mm real oak surface sits a multi-ply base, bringing each block to 15mm in total. There is enough oak in a 4mm layer for a professional sand and refinish if the surface ever looks tired. That engineered core is what keeps the floor steady when the air in the room gets drier or more humid through the year. One pack lays 1.2 m².

Where it works

Laid lengthways down a hallway, a herringbone draws the eye through the space. You can lay it in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, conservatories and kitchens, and carry it on up the stairs. For a staircase, pair it with our stair nosing for a neat edge on every tread.
