brushed-cognac-oak-engineered-wood-flooring
Brushed Cognac Oak 220mm Engineered Plank

Brushed Cognac Oak takes its name from its colour: a deep, warm amber-brown like brandy held up to the light. It comes on a wide 220mm plank from our Nature range, brushed for texture and lacquered for an easy-clean surface.

Look and character

The tone is dark but golden rather than cold, with honey and copper notes running through the grain. Brushing lifts the grain so the figure of the oak shows clearly, and the lacquer seals it with a soft sheen that deepens the warmth of the colour. As a Classic grade oak the boards show small knots and gentle variation. Wide boards keep the look calm and generous, so the rich colour reads as one confident surface rather than a busy pattern. It suits traditional and modern rooms alike, and pairs well with cream, sage green or deep blue walls.

Construction and specification

Boards are 1900mm long and 220mm wide, with 2.508 m² in every pack. Each plank is 15mm deep, with a 4mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. A multi-ply core does the structural work, keeping movement low when the room warms up or cools down. Being lacquered, the surface is sealed and low-maintenance: sweep, then clean with a damp, well-wrung mop. With a bevel on the long edges only (2V), the floor has clear lengthwise lines and quieter end joints.

Where it works

Use it through the main rooms of the house: living room, dining room, hallway and bedrooms, plus kitchens and conservatories. For stairs, pair it with stair nosing so each step has a clean, safe edge.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a tongue and groove board that can be glued down or floated over underlay, depending on your subfloor. When you work out quantities, add around 10% for offcuts and waste. Around the edges, scotia beading neatly hides the expansion gap left at the skirting. It is suitable for underfloor heating; see our underfloor heating flooring for other options.

Why order a large free sample

Screens rarely show deep colours accurately, so look at a real board in your own room first. You can order up to 3 large free samples.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1028/1733/3579/files/NE1501-Brushed-Cognac-Oak-Engineered-Wood.jpg?v=1790238046
