brushed-invisible-light-oak-versailles-panel-engineered-wood-flooring
Brushed Invisible Light Oak Engineered Versailles Panel

Brushed Invisible Light Oak takes the Versailles pattern, one of the grandest parquet designs, and gives it a light, understated colour. Each panel is a large square of engineered oak, 20mm thick with a 4mm real oak top layer.

Look and character

The tone is light and natural, close to the colour of untreated oak, with the grain lifted by brushing so the texture is easy to see. A matt lacquered finish seals the surface with a low sheen, which keeps the pale colour quiet rather than shiny. Classic grade gives some knots and colour movement across the panels. The effect is a pattern-rich floor that still feels calm, which makes it easier to live with in a modern room than a dark Versailles.

Construction and specification

Each panel is 20mm thick overall, with a 4mm real oak top layer bonded to a multi-ply base. A multi-ply base gives a more stable floor than solid oak of the same look, and that matters in a pattern where every joint is on show. A 4mm top layer leaves a good depth of oak for sanding and refinishing later on. Laid as 800 x 800mm squares, the panels build up the framed, criss-cross Versailles pattern long associated with grand period rooms. The 4V bevelled edges give each panel a fine shadow line on all four sides. One pack lays 2.56 m².

Where it works

You can lay it in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, conservatories and kitchens. In a kitchen, mop up spills promptly, as real oak is not waterproof. Versailles panels make a strong centrepiece in a living or dining room, where the pattern can be seen as a whole. A floating installation needs a good flooring underlay underneath. Order about 10% more than the measured area to allow for cuts at the edges. The floor is suitable for use with underfloor heating, like the rest of our underfloor heating flooring. Finish the edges with scotia beading.

Why order a large free sample

Screens can't show texture or sheen properly, so a large free sample of Brushed Invisible Light Oak is the best way to judge it. You can have 3 large free samples, and you are welcome at our Halesowen showroom, 214a Dudley Road.

https://www.flooringsurgeons.co.uk/products/brushed-invisible-light-oak-versailles-panel-engineered-wood-flooring
