Brushing gives the grain a gentle texture, and the oil sinks in to leave a matt, natural surface. At this width each board shows a lot of its oak, so the grain patterns have space to run and there are far fewer joints across the room. Classic grade keeps knots small, which stops such wide boards looking busy. It is well suited to large living spaces, open-plan kitchens and rooms where you want the floor to feel generous.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eConstruction and specification\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach pack holds 2.86 m² of 260mm wide planks, 2200mm in length. A 2V bevel along the two long sides gives soft lines down the length of the floor without breaking it up at the ends. The board is 15mm thick overall, and the top 4mm is real oak. A multi-ply core does the structural work, keeping movement low when the room warms up or cools down. The oil finish is easy to refresh: scuffed areas can be cleaned and re-oiled without sanding the whole room.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eWhere it works\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it can also be used in kitchens and conservatories.
