burntwood-oak-herringbone-engineered-wood-flooring
Burntwood Oak 80mm Engineered Herringbone

Burntwood Oak is a deep brown, small-block herringbone with the busy, detailed pattern of traditional parquet. At 10mm thick with a 3mm real oak top layer, it is a slim engineered build that helps where floor height is limited.

Look and character

The colour is dark brown, with the rich, toasted depth the name hints at. Rustic grade oak brings knots and noticeable grain variation, so no two blocks look quite the same. Brushing adds texture, and the oiled finish gives a natural, low-sheen surface that feels like timber rather than a coating. Dark herringbone looks good with cream walls, brass and black metal, and warm timber furniture.

Construction and specification

Each block is 10mm thick overall, with a 3mm real oak top layer bonded to a multi-ply base. 3mm of real oak gives you the grain and feel of timber, with scope for a careful professional sand later on. A multi-ply base gives a more stable floor than solid oak of the same look, and that matters in a pattern where every joint is on show. At 80mm wide and 300mm long, these are compact blocks with the close-set look of older parquet floors. The 2V bevel runs along the two long edges, outlining the length of each block while the ends butt close. A pack covers 0.96 m² of floor.

Where it works

You can lay it in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, conservatories and kitchens, and carry it on up the stairs. If you are continuing up the stairs, choose matching stair nosing for the tread edges. Herringbone runs well from room to room, so it can link a hall, kitchen and living space in one pattern. In a kitchen, mop up spills promptly, as real oak is not waterproof. Scotia beading gives a tidy finish where the floor meets the skirting.

Why order a large free sample

Screens can't show texture or sheen properly, so a large free sample of Burntwood Oak is the best way to judge it.
