Beneath it sits a multi-ply base of cross-laid layers, which resists the swelling and shrinking that solid boards can suffer as heating and humidity change. Lacquer sits on the surface as a protective film, which makes it an easy floor to keep clean day to day. Planks measure 190mm wide by 1900mm long, and each pack covers 2.888 m². That mid-wide format works in most rooms, neither narrow and busy nor oversized.
