Classic grade means small knots and some colour variation, without heavy rustic features. The narrow boards and random end joints create a detailed, classic look that suits Victorian and Edwardian houses and smaller rooms.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eConstruction and specification\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach plank is 14mm deep, with a 3mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. Beneath it sits a multi-ply base of cross-laid layers, which resists the swelling and shrinking that solid boards can suffer as heating and humidity change. Planks are 125mm wide in random lengths, and each pack covers 1.8 m². Slim boards give a detailed, classic floor with plenty of joint lines. A small bevel on all four edges (4V) outlines every board, so the planks read individually and minor height differences are hidden.
