Classic grade oak keeps knots modest. Pale boards reflect daylight around a room, making it a strong option for small spaces, north-facing rooms and modern Scandinavian-style schemes with white walls and natural textiles.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eConstruction and specification\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe board is 14mm thick overall, and the top 3mm is real oak. When it needs renewing, a 3mm top layer can be lightly sanded and refinished. Beneath it sits a multi-ply base of cross-laid layers, which resists the swelling and shrinking that solid boards can suffer as heating and humidity change. The lacquer forms a sealed coat on top of the wood, so everyday spills wipe off and routine cleaning is simple. It comes 190mm wide in 1900mm lengths, packed to cover 2.888 m² per pack. All four edges carry a 4V bevel, which gives each plank a crisp outline across the room.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eWhere it works\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eLiving and dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories are all good places for it.
