Wide boards mean fewer joints and a calmer, more expansive floor. A 14\/3mm build means 14mm in total, with 3mm of real oak forming the surface you walk on. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. UV oil is cured with ultraviolet light during manufacture, so the surface is hard-wearing from the day it is laid.
