Which Type Of Floor Can I Use In My Bathroom?
Bathrooms can be a tricky one due to the high levels of moisture in the room. Wooden and Engineered flooring unfortunately does not take well to direct contact with water and humidity, so whilst many of us want the most attractive flooring for our lavatory, it is very important to prioritise and question the practicality of the product.
Luckily, here at Flooring Surgeons we have a wide range of stylish waterproof products that are perfectly suited for bathrooms and can be comfortably installed. You won’t have to compromise on style or quality! We have numerous solutions for great looking, water-resistant floors!
Luxury Vinyl Flooring
All vinyl flooring is suitable for bathrooms as they are 100% waterproof and completely resistant to moisture and humidity. These products are also very easy to mop, clean and maintain. Luxury Vinyl Flooring (LVT) is a far cry from the old fashioned lino your Nan had in her loo. LVT comes in individual planks and tiles, and you can choose from a range of effects, such as wood and tile.
Laminate Flooring
Laminate flooring is very hard wearing and provides a great resistance to moisture and splashes. However, over time if spillages are not cleared effectively, water can slowly creep into the joints and cause warping or swelling of your floor. We recommend using Click Seal (a special silicon sealant) along the joints of your laminate whilst laying your floor. This method is very effective and can help prolong the life of your laminate flooring by creating a barrier to prevent water from getting into the joints.
