Engineered flooring is a man made product, with its core material usually being plywood or high-density fibreboard (HDF). This is then topped with a layer of solid wood veneer, which gives you that authentic look and feeling. Engineered flooring has a very stable structure that is resistant to expansion and contraction. Thus, it can be fitted in almost any room around the house, including basements, conservatories and kitchens. They are also compatible with under floor heating.
