Description
Black scotia is the strongest-looking trim in our MDF range. At 18mm thick and 2.4m long, it covers the expansion gap around the edge of a new floor with a clean, dark line rather than trying to disappear.
Choosing black
It sits best beside very dark floors, such as charcoal, black-stained or deep smoked wood-look boards, where a paler trim would stand out. It also works when your skirting is painted black or dark grey, so the bead reads as part of the skirting. Against a pale floor it makes a deliberate, graphic border, which suits modern and industrial rooms.
Fitting and compatibility
Scotia is designed for laminate, engineered wood and solid wood floors. We normally suggest pinning it to the skirting, never to the floor, with a small amount of grab adhesive such as Gripfill for a firm hold. Browse other shades in our scotia beading range, or see all flooring accessories.
