Smooth Natural Oak 190mm Engineered Plank

Smooth Natural Oak is a click-fit engineered plank from our Chicago range in a warm natural colour. The 190mm by 1900mm boards have a smooth-feeling surface, protected by a brushed matt lacquer.

Look and character

The oak shows its natural grain clearly under a matt lacquer that keeps reflections low, so the floor looks close to bare wood with a practical, sealed finish. The finish is described as brushed, but the surface feels smooth underfoot rather than deeply textured. The colour is a warm mid natural oak that suits most schemes, and Classic grade oak brings small knots and a calm, even look. It works well in family living rooms, bedrooms and open kitchens, for anyone who wants a neat, understated oak floor.

Construction and specification

Each plank is 14mm deep, with a 3mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. A multi-ply core does the structural work, keeping movement low when the room warms up or cools down. Boards are 1900mm long and 190mm wide, with 2.888 m² in every pack. The 4V bevel runs round every edge, adding definition and a slightly more rustic, board-by-board look. The matt lacquer protects the wood while keeping the sheen low, so the floor looks closer to bare timber.

Where it works

It suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it can also be used in kitchens and conservatories. Carrying the floor up the staircase is possible; use stair nosing to finish the tread edges neatly. For kitchens, treat it as you would any wood floor and never leave standing water on it.

Fitting and underfloor heating

A click profile makes it quick to lay as a floating floor over a suitable underlay. This floor is suitable for underfloor heating, and you can compare it with the rest of our underfloor heating flooring. When you work out quantities, add around 10% for offcuts and waste. Use scotia beading along the skirting to cover the small gap the floor needs to move.
