Antique Brown Oak Distressed 190mm Engineered Plank

Antique Brown Oak Distressed is a dark, aged-looking engineered plank from our New York range. The surface is deliberately distressed and finished with hardwax oil, so the 190mm boards arrive with a worn, vintage character from day one.

Look and character

The colour is a deep brown with an antique cast, darker than natural oak and warmer than a smoked board. Distressing works marks and softened hollows into the face, and the finish settles into them so knots and grain stand out. Hardwax oil leaves a low-sheen, natural feel rather than a plastic-looking coat. It is a Classic grade oak, so natural features are present without overwhelming the colour. The effect is of an old floor that has been lived on, which suits period homes, cottages and rooms with exposed brick or beams, and everyday marks blend into the distressed surface.

Construction and specification

Each plank is 14mm deep, with a 3mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. Each pack holds 2.888 m² of 190mm wide planks, 1900mm in length. All four edges carry a 4V bevel, which gives each plank a crisp outline across the room. A hardwax oil finish penetrates the timber and leaves a tough, low-sheen surface that can be spot-repaired and refreshed.

Where it works

Living and dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories are all good places for it. For stairs, pair it with stair nosing so each step has a clean, safe edge.

Fitting and underfloor heating

The boards join with a tongue and groove and can be laid floating over underlay or glued down to a prepared subfloor.
