Caramel Oak 150mm Engineered Herringbone

Caramel Oak is a wide-block herringbone with a warm golden-brown colour and a click fitting system. The 150mm blocks lock together and float over an underlay, giving a real oak parquet look without bonding every block to the subfloor.

Look and character

The tone is a medium golden brown, like toffee or caramel, with warmer amber notes in the grain. Rustic grade oak shows knots and colour changes from block to block, which suits the broad format well. The surface is brushed to bring the grain up and then UV lacquered, giving a sealed, easy-care finish that still shows texture. Wide herringbone in a warm tone feels relaxed and homely in open-plan spaces and larger living rooms.

Construction and specification

The blocks are 14mm thick, with real oak on top of a multi-ply core. Because the plies run in alternating directions, the blocks move far less than solid timber as the heating comes on and the seasons change. At 150 x 600mm, this is one of the wider herringbone formats, so the pattern is bold and the room feels less busy. The 4V bevelled edges give each block a fine shadow line on all four sides. One pack lays 1.8 m².

Where it works

It is suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories, and it can be used on stairs too. Like any real oak floor it isn't waterproof, so keep standing water off it in the kitchen. In a hallway the zigzag leads you through the house; in a dining room it frames the table. Fitting and underfloor heating

The blocks have click joints and are laid floating over an underlay, so there is no need to bond them to the subfloor. Choose a suitable flooring underlay to go underneath.
