Natural Rustic Oak 150mm Engineered Herringbone

Natural Rustic Oak is a wide 150mm herringbone with a warm, characterful look and click joints for a floating fit. It has a 3mm real oak top layer on a 14mm multi-ply base.

Look and character

The colour is medium natural oak, and Rustic grade gives it plenty of knots, grain swirls and colour movement. Brushing lifts the texture, and a UV lacquer seals the surface so it is easy to keep clean. The wide blocks let the rustic character show at full scale. It creates a cosy, warm feel in living rooms, family kitchens and open-plan spaces.

Construction and specification

Under the 3mm real oak surface sits a multi-ply base, bringing each block to 14mm in total. The 3mm layer is a common, practical depth for engineered oak, and a fitter can usually give it a light sand in the future. Cross-laid layers resist the swelling and shrinking that solid wood is prone to, which helps the joints stay tight. At 150 x 600mm, this is one of the wider herringbone formats, so the pattern is bold and the room feels less busy. A 4V bevel puts a small chamfer on all four edges, so every block is outlined and the pattern reads crisply. One pack lays 1.8 m².

Where it works

Laid lengthways down a hallway, a herringbone draws the eye through the space. You can lay it in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, conservatories and kitchens, and carry it on up the stairs. Fitting and underfloor heating

Click joints mean the herringbone goes down as a floating floor, which keeps installation simpler than a bonded parquet. Choose a suitable flooring underlay to go underneath. Allow roughly 10% extra for cutting and waste when you work out how many packs you need.
