Cotton Invisible Oak is a pale chevron floor with the soft, untreated look of bare oak but the protection of a sealed surface. Its 90mm boards meet in continuous V-shaped rows, and each has a 3mm real oak top layer.
The colour is light and natural rather than white, with visible grain and occasional darker knots. The invisible matt lacquer keeps sheen and colour change to a minimum, so the oak looks close to raw while still being finished. Classic grade means some variation between boards, which gives the rows of Vs depth without looking busy. It pairs naturally with white units, black-framed glazing and timber furniture.
The 14/3mm figures describe two parts of the same board: 14mm is the full thickness, and 3mm of that is the real oak top layer you see and walk on. A 3mm oak layer can be lightly sanded and refinished by a professional if the surface ever needs refreshing. Engineering the board this way keeps it flatter and more stable than a solid block of the same size. The 90 x 510mm boards are cut at an angle at each end, so rows of chevrons run across the room like clean arrows. A 4V bevel puts a small chamfer on all four edges, so every board is outlined and the pattern reads crisply. One pack lays 1.836 m².
It is suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories, and it can be used on stairs too. If you are continuing up the stairs, choose matching stair nosing for the tread edges. The V pattern works well running through open-plan kitchens and dining rooms, linking the spaces. Kitchens are fine as long as spills are wiped up, because real oak is not waterproof. See more engineered oak chevron floors if you want to compare.
Fit it with tongue and groove joints, either floating on a suitable underlay or fully glued down. Add around 10% to the room size to cover cuts and waste. If you float it, choose a suitable flooring underlay first. Cover the expansion gap at the walls with scotia beading. It is suitable for underfloor heating.
Put a sample of Cotton Invisible Oak next to your walls, cabinets and furniture before you commit. You can order up to 3 large free samples, and if you'd rather talk it through, call 0121 274 8575.
This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
