Natural Brushed Oak brings the clean, light colour of natural oak to a chevron layout, with boards meeting in sharp points. Each 90mm board has a 3mm real oak top layer on a 14mm multi-ply base.
The tone is light natural oak without a heavy stain. Rustic grade shows knots and bold grain changes, so the Vs have plenty of movement. Brushing gives the surface texture, and the matt lacquer adds a subtle, low sheen while sealing the oak. It works well in modern open-plan kitchens and living rooms, and brings a light, patterned floor to period homes.
The build is 14mm in total, made up of a 3mm layer of real oak over cross-laid plywood. The 3mm layer is a common, practical depth for engineered oak, and a fitter can usually give it a light sand in the future. A multi-ply base gives a more stable floor than solid oak of the same look, and that matters in a pattern where every joint is on show. Unlike herringbone, where rectangular blocks overlap, the 90mm by 510mm chevron boards meet at a mitred point and line up in straight rows of Vs. A 4V bevel puts a small chamfer on all four edges, so every board is outlined and the pattern reads crisply. Each pack covers 1.836 m².
Rooms listed for this floor are the living room, bedroom, dining room, hallway, kitchen and conservatory, plus stairs. Like any real oak floor it isn't waterproof, so keep standing water off it in the kitchen. Chevron rows pointing along a hallway or towards a window lead the eye and make the room feel longer. The tongue and groove boards can be floated or glued down, depending on your subfloor. A floating installation needs a good flooring underlay underneath. It is suitable for underfloor heating; see our underfloor heating flooring for more options. Add around 10% to the room size to cover cuts and waste. Scotia beading gives a tidy finish where the floor meets the skirting.

This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
