Double Smoked Oak Engineered Versailles Panel

Double Smoked Oak Versailles panels bring a deep, smoky colour to one of the most decorative parquet patterns. Each 600mm square panel is engineered, 15mm thick, with a 4mm real oak top layer.

Look and character

The colour is dark and rich, with smoked tones that deepen the grain of the interlaced strips. An oiled finish keeps the surface natural and tactile, with a soft sheen rather than a hard coating. Classic grade oak adds some knots and variation, so each panel has its own character. In a dark shade the Versailles lattice feels dramatic and formal, which suits period dining rooms, libraries and grand hallways.

Construction and specification

Laid as 600 x 600mm squares, the panels build up the framed, criss-cross Versailles pattern long associated with grand period rooms. Micro-bevelled edges keep the joins discreet, letting the pattern rather than the gaps do the work. Under the 4mm real oak surface sits a multi-ply base, bringing each panel to 15mm in total. 4mm of real oak is a generous figure for engineered flooring and allows for future refinishing. Engineering the board this way keeps it flatter and more stable than a solid block of the same size. A pack covers 2.16 m² of floor.

Where it works

The panel pattern suits larger rooms and entrance halls, where several squares can be seen at once. You can lay it in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, conservatories and kitchens. Fitting and underfloor heating

Installation is tongue and groove, and your fitter can choose a floating or glue-down method. If you float it, choose a suitable flooring underlay first.
