Smoked Golden Oak Engineered Versailles Panel

Smoked Golden Oak brings rich, warm depth to large 800mm Versailles panels. The panels are 20mm thick with a 4mm real oak top layer, making a substantial feature floor.

Look and character

The colour is dark overall, but golden tones glow through the smoked oak, giving it warmth. A matt lacquered finish keeps the sheen low and protects the surface. Classic grade adds some knots and variation to the interlaced strips. It feels rich and formal, well suited to period living rooms, dining rooms and grand entrance halls.

Construction and specification

Each panel is 20mm thick overall, with a 4mm real oak top layer bonded to a multi-ply base. 4mm of real oak is a generous figure for engineered flooring and allows for future refinishing. A multi-ply base gives a more stable floor than solid oak of the same look, and that matters in a pattern where every joint is on show. Each panel is 800 x 800mm square, with the interlaced lattice of a classic Versailles floor built into it. Micro-bevelled edges keep the joins discreet, letting the pattern rather than the gaps do the work. Each pack covers 2.56 m².

Give the pattern space: dining rooms, living rooms and wide hallways show it best. You can lay it in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, conservatories and kitchens. Compare other Versailles engineered wood floors to weigh up sizes and colours. In a kitchen, mop up spills promptly, as real oak is not waterproof.

Fitting and underfloor heating

The tongue and groove panels can be floated or glued down, depending on your subfloor. For a floating fit, start with the right underlay for wood floors. Finish the edges with scotia beading.
