Seashell Light Oak 90mm Solid Herringbone

Seashell Light Oak is a pale, beige-toned solid oak herringbone with a soft, serene look. Each 90mm by 300mm block is 18mm of solid oak, lightly brushed and sealed with an invisible lacquer that keeps the colour close to raw timber.

Look and character

The subtle, natural tones give the floor a calm, light feel, ideal for rooms where you want the pattern without a heavy colour. Brushing adds a delicate texture, and the invisible lacquer protects the surface while avoiding the golden cast that some finishes give oak. In Classic grade, grain variation and natural knots add life to each block. The 4V bevel outlines the herringbone. Pair it with white or pale grey walls, soft linen and light timber furniture.

Construction and specification

Solid wood means exactly that: each block is a single piece of oak, 18mm thick. There is no thin top layer to wear through, so the surface can be sanded and refinished more often than an engineered floor over its life. The blocks are 90mm wide and 300mm long, with 1.08 m² in each pack, and the Classic grade allows natural knots and grain variation.

Hallways, dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and conservatories are the natural home for Seashell Light Oak. If the floor continues up the stairs, finish each step with stair nosing. Other options sit in our range of solid herringbone floors.

Fitting

Seashell Light Oak can be fitted tongue and groove, glued down or nailed down, depending on your subfloor. Solid wood should be left to acclimatise in the room before fitting, and it is a job best done by an experienced fitter. Finish the edges with scotia beading, and add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. Patterned floors like this need more cuts at the room edges, so don't skimp on the extra. If you have underfloor heating, ask us to confirm suitability before ordering. Keep the surface at its best with the right floor cleaning and maintenance products.
