Shore Drift Oak 90mm Engineered Herringbone

Shore Drift Oak has the light, sandy colour of driftwood on a beach, set in a 90mm herringbone. The blocks are engineered, 14mm thick, with a 2mm real oak top layer.

Look and character

The tone is light beige, soft and breezy. Rustic grade oak brings knots and gentle grain texture, so the floor has a relaxed, natural character. A matt lacquered finish provides a smooth protective surface with a low sheen. It suits coastal and Scandinavian schemes, white walls and natural textures such as linen and rattan.

Construction and specification

A 90mm width with a 450mm length gives a balanced zigzag, less busy than small-block parquet and less bold than the wide formats. Bevels on all four edges (4V) frame each block and help the geometry stand out. Each block is 14mm thick overall, with a 2mm real oak top layer bonded to a multi-ply base. The 2mm oak face is the part you see and touch, so the floor looks and feels like timber, not a printed effect. Because the plies run in alternating directions, the blocks move far less than solid timber as the heating comes on and the seasons change. One pack lays 1.62 m².

Where it works

Rooms listed for this floor are the living room, bedroom, dining room, hallway, kitchen and conservatory, plus stairs. Stairs need a finished edge, so add stair nosing to the order. Start the pattern from the room's main sight line, often the doorway, so the zigzag runs where it is seen most. Fitting and underfloor heating

The tongue and groove blocks can be floated or glued down, depending on your subfloor. If you float it, choose a suitable flooring underlay first. Add around 10% to the room size to cover cuts and waste. It can be used over underfloor heating, and you'll find other options in our underfloor heating flooring collection.
