Golden Oak Hand Scraped 150mm Engineered Plank

Golden Oak Hand Scraped pairs a warm golden tone with a gently rippled surface. It is an 18mm Nature engineered plank, 150mm wide in random lengths, with a thick 5mm real oak top layer finished in lacquer.

Look and character

The colour is a clear, honeyed gold, warm without tipping into orange. Hand scraping leaves soft, uneven hollows along each board that catch the light at low angles, and the lacquer gives them a smooth, slightly shiny coat that makes the texture glint. Classic grade oak keeps knots small, letting the scraped surface provide the character. The board proportions give a familiar pattern that looks at home in cottages and traditional houses, while the golden tone brightens rooms that get little direct sun.

Construction and specification

Each plank is 18mm deep, with a 5mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. Planks are 150mm wide in random lengths, and each pack covers 1.08 m². The long edges are bevelled (2V), so you see the long lines of the boards while the ends butt up tight. Being lacquered, the surface is sealed and low-maintenance: sweep, then clean with a damp, well-wrung mop.

Where it works

You can run it from the hallway into living and dining rooms, and use it in bedrooms, kitchens and conservatories too. For stairs, pair it with stair nosing so each step has a clean, safe edge. The middle-of-the-range colour pairs easily with both light and dark furniture.

Fitting and underfloor heating

Fitting is tongue and groove, either as a floating floor over a good underlay or fully glued to the subfloor. Use scotia beading along the skirting to cover the small gap the floor needs to move.
