Golden Wheat Oak in the 14/3mm build is a warm, knotty engineered plank from our Nature range. Slim 125mm boards in random lengths are brushed and lacquered, so the rustic character comes with an easy-clean surface.
The colour is like ripe wheat: a soft beige-gold that is lighter than a honey oak but clearly warm. As a Rustic grade oak it shows plenty of knots and natural colour changes, which keep the floor lively. Brushing adds a tactile grain, and the lacquer gives a subtle sheen that lifts the golden notes. Narrow boards give a traditional pattern that suits smaller rooms and period homes, and the warm tone softens rooms decorated in white, cream or pale green.
A 14/3mm build means 14mm in total, with 3mm of real oak forming the surface you walk on. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. Boards are 125mm wide and supplied in random lengths so the end joints fall naturally; one pack covers 1.8 m². With a bevel on the long edges only (2V), the floor has clear lengthwise lines and quieter end joints. The lacquer forms a sealed coat on top of the wood, so everyday spills wipe off and routine cleaning is simple. The 3mm top layer can be sanded and refinished when it eventually needs it.
It suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it can also be used in kitchens and conservatories. The same boards can continue onto the stairs, with stair nosing to finish each step.
Fitting is tongue and groove, either as a floating floor over a good underlay or fully glued to the subfloor. This floor is suitable for underfloor heating, and you can compare it with the rest of our underfloor heating flooring. When you work out quantities, add around 10% for offcuts and waste. Around the edges, scotia beading neatly hides the expansion gap left at the skirting.
You can order up to 3 large free samples. Mid-tone oak can read warmer or cooler depending on the daylight, so see it in your own room first.
This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
