Grey Haze Oak 190mm Engineered Plank

The 190mm Grey Haze Oak is the wider, calmer version of this smoky grey colour. Classic grade Nature boards, 1900mm long, are brushed and oiled over a 4mm real oak top layer.

Look and character

Expect the same hazy mid grey, with a smoked look that sits between silver and taupe, but with fewer knots than the narrower, more rustic version. That makes the floor read as more even and contemporary. Wider boards show longer runs of grain, and brushing gives them a soft texture you notice underfoot. The oiled finish keeps the surface matt, so the grey looks natural rather than painted. It suits modern living spaces, open-plan kitchens and rooms with concrete, marble or matt black details.

Construction and specification

The board is 15mm thick overall, and the top 4mm is real oak. Under the face is a cross-bonded multi-ply core, which is what lets an engineered plank cope with central heating better than a solid board of the same size. Planks measure 190mm wide by 1900mm long, and each pack covers 2.166 m². The long edges are bevelled (2V), so you see the long lines of the boards while the ends butt up tight. An oiled finish soaks into the wood rather than sitting on top, and worn patches can be re-oiled locally instead of refinishing the whole floor.

Where it works

Use it through the main rooms of the house: living room, dining room, hallway and bedrooms, plus kitchens and conservatories. The same boards can continue onto the stairs, with stair nosing to finish each step.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It is suitable for underfloor heating; see our underfloor heating flooring for other options. You can glue it down or lay it floating; the tongue and groove edges join each board to the next. Around the edges, scotia beading neatly hides the expansion gap left at the skirting. Order about 10% more than the floor area to cover cuts and waste.
