Grey Haze Oak 125mm Engineered Plank

Grey Haze Oak in the 125mm width is a cool, smoky grey engineered plank from our Nature range. Rustic grade boards in random lengths are brushed and oiled for a natural, textured finish.

Look and character

The colour is a mid grey with a smoked, hazy quality, cooler than any brown oak and softer than a painted grey. Knots and grain changes from the Rustic grade show through clearly, so the grey never looks flat. Brushing gives the surface a fine texture, and the oil keeps it matt, so the floor looks like weathered timber rather than a coating. Narrow boards add a traditional pattern that balances the modern colour, making it a good match for Victorian terraces with contemporary decor, and for grey, white and navy schemes.

Construction and specification

Planks are 125mm wide in random lengths, and each pack covers 1.8 m². Each plank is 14mm deep, with a 3mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. Oil nourishes the timber from within and keeps a natural, matt feel; it benefits from a maintenance oil now and then. The long edges are bevelled (2V), so you see the long lines of the boards while the ends butt up tight.

Where it works

It suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it can also be used in kitchens and conservatories. It can go up the stairs as well, finished with matching stair nosing on each tread.

Fitting and underfloor heating

The boards join with a tongue and groove and can be laid floating over underlay or glued down to a prepared subfloor. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of your measured area for cutting and waste.
