Natural Oiled Oak 220mm Engineered Plank, 15/4mm

The Nevada XL Natural Oiled Oak is a wide 220mm plank with a brushed, oiled surface and a 15/4mm build. Long 2200mm boards give a relaxed, organic floor with few joints.

Look and character

Compared with the smooth, thicker Nevada version of this colour, the XL board is brushed, so the grain has a gentle texture you can feel and a little more depth to the eye. The oil keeps the natural oak tone warm and matt. Classic grade selection means small knots and gentle variation. Wide boards suit large rooms and open-plan layouts, where the grain can run uninterrupted, and the soft natural colour sits well with linen, stone, plants and pale timber furniture.

Construction and specification

The board is 15mm thick overall, and the top 4mm is real oak. Beneath it sits a multi-ply base of cross-laid layers, which resists the swelling and shrinking that solid boards can suffer as heating and humidity change. Oil nourishes the timber from within and keeps a natural, matt feel; it benefits from a maintenance oil now and then. Boards are 2200mm long and 220mm wide, with 2.904 m² in every pack. With a bevel on the long edges only (2V), the floor has clear lengthwise lines and quieter end joints.

Where it works

Living and dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories are all good places for it. Carrying the floor up the staircase is possible; use stair nosing to finish the tread edges neatly. Mid-tone oak sits comfortably with most wall colours and furniture, from white to deep green.

Fitting and underfloor heating

The boards join with a tongue and groove and can be laid floating over underlay or glued down to a prepared subfloor. Add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste.
