Weathered Smoked Oak 150mm Engineered Plank

Weathered Smoked Oak from our Heritage range combines a smoked colour with a weathered, brushed texture. The 150mm boards come in random lengths with a UV oiled finish.

Look and character

Smoking gives the oak a deep, smoky brown, and the weathered character adds variation, so some boards read darker and others show more of the original oak beneath. Brushing opens up the grain for a textured, tactile surface, and the UV oil keeps it matt and natural. Classic grade oak keeps knots modest. The traditional width and random lengths give a classic board layout, which suits cottages, period homes and relaxed modern rooms that want a darker, lived-in floor.

Construction and specification

Planks are 150mm wide in random lengths, and each pack covers 1.44 m². The 150mm width gives a familiar, traditional proportion. A 14/3mm build means 14mm in total, with 3mm of real oak forming the surface you walk on. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. The oil finish is easy to refresh: scuffed areas can be cleaned and re-oiled without sanding the whole room. The 4V bevel runs round every edge, adding definition and a slightly more rustic, board-by-board look.

Where it works

Living and dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories are all good places for it. Carrying the floor up the staircase is possible; use stair nosing to finish the tread edges neatly. Dark floors look best with plenty of light, pale walls or contrasting furniture. In a kitchen, wipe up spills quickly and put a mat by the sink: it is real wood, not waterproof.

Fitting and underfloor heating

You can glue it down or lay it floating; the tongue and groove edges join each board to the next. It can be laid over underfloor heating; more choices are in our underfloor heating flooring collection. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of your measured area for cutting and waste. Around the edges, scotia beading neatly hides the expansion gap left at the skirting.
