American Walnut Stain 150mm Engineered Plank

American Walnut Stain is a dark engineered plank stained to a rich walnut colour, from our Nevada range. At 150mm wide and supplied in random lengths, it lays out like a traditional board floor, while the lacquered surface gives it a smooth, easy-care finish.

Look and character

The stain takes the timber to a deep chocolate brown, the shade people associate with classic American walnut furniture. Grain and small natural features remain visible under the colour, so the floor still reads as real wood rather than a flat, uniform coating. The lacquer brings out the depth of the stain and leaves a smooth surface with a gentle sheen. Random lengths break up the pattern of end joints, which suits the darker tone: the floor looks settled and even rather than striped. Dark floors show dust and pale pet hair more than mid tones, so it works best where you want a strong, grounding colour against lighter walls.

Construction and specification

Boards are 150mm wide and supplied in random lengths so the end joints fall naturally; one pack covers 2.64 m². The board is 14mm thick overall, and the top 3mm is real wood. A multi-ply core does the structural work, keeping movement low when the room warms up or cools down. Lacquer sits on the surface as a protective film, which makes it an easy floor to keep clean day to day. The 4V bevel runs round every edge, adding definition and a slightly more rustic, board-by-board look.

Where it works

You can run it from the hallway into living and dining rooms, and use it in bedrooms, kitchens and conservatories too. It can go up the stairs as well, finished with matching stair nosing on each tread.

Fitting and underfloor heating

Fitting is tongue and groove, either as a floating floor over a good underlay or fully glued to the subfloor. This floor is suitable for underfloor heating, and you can compare it with the rest of our underfloor heating flooring. Add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. Finish the room edges with scotia beading to cover the expansion gap.
