Smoky Brushed Lacquered Oak is a narrow-board engineered floor in a dark, smoky brown, from our Nevada range. Its 125mm planks come in random lengths, brushed for texture and sealed with lacquer.
The colour is a deep brown with a hazy, smoked quality, darker than natural oak but softer than a double-smoked board. Brushing brings the grain to the surface, and the lacquer gives a smooth coat with a soft sheen that makes the smoky tones glow. Classic grade oak keeps knots modest. Narrow boards laid in random lengths create a traditional pattern that stops the dark colour feeling heavy, making it a good fit for Victorian and Edwardian homes, studies and dining rooms.
It comes 125mm wide in mixed lengths, packed to cover 1.8 m² per pack. This is a 14/3mm engineered board: 14mm from face to underside, of which the upper 3mm is real oak. Beneath it sits a multi-ply base of cross-laid layers, which resists the swelling and shrinking that solid boards can suffer as heating and humidity change. Lacquer sits on the surface as a protective film, which makes it an easy floor to keep clean day to day. A small bevel on all four edges (4V) outlines every board, so the planks read individually and minor height differences are hidden.
Use it through the main rooms of the house: living room, dining room, hallway and bedrooms, plus kitchens and conservatories. Carrying the floor up the staircase is possible; use stair nosing to finish the tread edges neatly.
Fitting is tongue and groove, either as a floating floor over a good underlay or fully glued to the subfloor. It can be laid over underfloor heating; more choices are in our underfloor heating flooring collection. Floating floors need the right underlay, and our flooring underlay range covers the common subfloors. Add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste.
Screens rarely show deep colours accurately, so look at a real board in your own room first. Order up to 3 large free samples and compare them side by side.
This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
