Brushed & Oiled Oak 90mm Solid Plank

Brushed & Oiled Oak is an 18mm solid oak plank cut to a slim 90mm width, with the grain brushed and then sealed with oil. The narrow boards and random lengths give a fine-lined, traditional floor that looks at home in period houses and new builds alike.

Look and character

The colour is a light, natural oak, the kind of honest timber tone that works with almost any scheme. Brushing opens up the grain so you can feel its texture underfoot, and the oil soaks into the wood rather than sitting on top, which keeps a soft, low-sheen, natural look. As a Classic grade, it shows a mix of grain and some natural knots and marks, so the floor has character without looking rough. The 4V bevel gives each board a crisp edge, and at 90mm wide you get more lines across the room, a look that suits smaller spaces and cottages.

Construction and specification

Brushed & Oiled Oak is 18mm of solid oak from top to bottom, with no plywood or fibreboard core. That matters over the long run: because the oak goes all the way through, the floor can be sanded back and refinished many more times than an engineered board, so it can be refreshed as it ages. The planks are 90mm wide in random lengths, and each pack covers 1.296 m².

Where it works

Fitting

It can be laid tongue and groove, glued down or nailed down to a sound subfloor. Add around 10% to your order for cuts and waste, and trim the perimeter with scotia beading.
