Coffee Oak Hand Scraped 125mm Solid Plank

Coffee Oak Hand Scraped is a dark brown solid oak plank with a deliberately uneven, hand-scraped surface. Each 125mm board is 18mm of solid oak, finished with lacquer, giving a rich, rustic floor that looks as if it has been there for generations.

Look and character

The colour is a deep coffee brown, and the hand scraping leaves gentle dips and ridges across the surface that catch the light as you move through the room. That texture adds depth to the dark tone and also helps disguise small everyday marks. The lacquer seals the surface, so the colour stays even and easy to clean. As a Classic grade, it includes natural grain variation and some knots, which suits the rustic character. Pair it with pale walls, cream rugs and leather to stop a dark floor from feeling heavy.

Construction and specification

Solid wood means exactly that: each plank is a single piece of oak, 18mm thick. There is no thin top layer to wear through, so the surface can be sanded and refinished more often than an engineered floor over its life. The planks are 125mm wide in random lengths, with 1.2 m² in each pack, and the Classic grade allows natural knots and grain variation.

Where it works

Hallways, dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and conservatories are the natural home for Coffee Oak Hand Scraped. If the floor continues up the stairs, finish each step with stair nosing. Other options sit in our range of solid oak plank floors.

Fitting

Coffee Oak Hand Scraped can be fitted tongue and groove, glued down or nailed down, depending on your subfloor. Solid wood should be left to acclimatise in the room before fitting, and it is a job best done by an experienced fitter. Finish the edges with scotia beading, and add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. If you have underfloor heating, ask us to confirm suitability before ordering. Keep the surface at its best with the right floor cleaning and maintenance products.
