Golden Oak Oiled Hand Scraped 125mm Solid Plank

This is the oiled version of our Golden Oak Hand Scraped plank. The same warm golden solid oak and hand-worked texture is finished with UV oil instead of lacquer, for a softer, more natural-looking surface on an 18mm, 125mm wide board.

Look and character

Oil soaks into the timber rather than forming a film on top, so the grain and scraped hollows look and feel like bare wood, with a low sheen. The golden tone gains depth from the texture, with lighter ridges and darker dips across each plank. Oiled floors can also be spot-repaired and re-oiled in worn areas, which suits a rustic floor that is meant to age gracefully. Classic grade oak brings natural knots and colour variation to the mix.

Construction and specification

What you are buying is 18mm solid oak, 125mm wide in random lengths. Solid boards are the long-term option: sand them back and refinish them, and a tired floor can look fresh again, with more scope for that than an engineered floor offers. Packs cover 1.2 m², and each plank has a 4V bevel on all four edges.

Fitting

Golden Oak Oiled Hand Scraped can be fitted tongue and groove, glued down or nailed down, depending on your subfloor. Solid wood should be left to acclimatise in the room before fitting, and it is a job best done by an experienced fitter. Finish the edges with scotia beading, and add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. If you have underfloor heating, ask us to confirm suitability before ordering.
