Brushed Golden Oak Hand Scraped combines a warm golden colour with a surface you can feel. Each 180mm Nature board is hand scraped and brushed, then lacquered, on a substantial 20mm build with 6mm of real oak on top.
The golden tone sits in the middle of the range: warmer than natural oak, lighter than a cognac or antique brown. Hand scraping creates gentle undulations along each board, so the floor catches the light in soft ripples. Brushing adds fine texture to the grain, and the lacquer seals everything with a smooth coat and a subtle sheen. It is a Classic grade oak, which keeps knots small so the texture and colour lead. It brings warmth to north-facing rooms and suits cottages, traditional houses and homes with oak doors or beams.
The board is 20mm thick overall, and the top 6mm is real oak. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. Planks measure 180mm wide by 1860mm long, and each pack covers 1.674 m². A 2V bevel along the two long sides gives soft lines down the length of the floor without breaking it up at the ends. Being lacquered, the surface is sealed and low-maintenance: sweep, then clean with a damp, well-wrung mop.
It is at home in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, and works in kitchens and conservatories with a little care. The same boards can continue onto the stairs, with stair nosing to finish each step.
It is suitable for underfloor heating. It is a tongue and groove board that can be glued down or floated over underlay, depending on your subfloor. Floating floors need the right underlay, and our flooring underlay range covers the common subfloors. Order about 10% more than the floor area to cover cuts and waste.
