Embossed Natural Oak 12mm Laminate

Embossed Natural Oak is a natural, rustic-toned laminate plank from our Fusion range. Subtle knots, markings and streaks, plus an embossed surface, give the 196mm boards the feel of a characterful oak floor.

Look and character

The colour is a medium natural oak with rustic variation across the boards: some darker streaks, the odd knot and a lively grain pattern. That natural irregularity keeps the floor from looking repetitive and helps it hide daily wear. The textured and embossed finish gives each board depth you can see and feel. It is an easy floor to decorate around, sitting comfortably with white, cream or soft grey walls, and it suits country-style kitchens as much as modern living rooms.

Construction and specification

With a 12mm core, the floor has a sturdy, grounded feel that suits busy family rooms. Plank size is 196mm wide by 1215mm long, which keeps the layout calm and uncluttered. One pack covers 1.43 m². The 4V bevel on every edge makes each plank stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism. The AC4 rating means the surface is tested for heavy domestic traffic and general commercial use, so it copes well with hallways and family rooms.

Where it works

It is a good fit for dining rooms, living rooms, hallways, kitchens, conservatories, bedrooms and bathrooms. A mat by the front door will keep grit off the hallway, the busiest stretch in most homes. It can also be used on stairs with suitable stair nosing to finish each step safely. For more colours in a straight board, see our plank laminate range.

Fitting and underfloor heating

Installation is click and floating, which means the planks join edge to edge and rest on an underlay instead of being stuck down. A good laminate underlay goes underneath to level small imperfections and quieten the floor. Remember to add around 10% to the measured area to cover cuts and waste. It is suitable for underfloor heating. Neat scotia beading around the skirting hides the expansion gap.
