Savannah Oak 12mm Laminate

Savannah Oak in a straight plank is a pale, creamy laminate from our Fusion range, with the subtle knots, markings and streaks of rustic timber. The 196mm boards give a light floor with a natural, lived-in feel.

Look and character

The colour is a light white-beige oak, and the rustic detail adds just enough character to keep a pale floor from looking flat. Small knots and streaks vary from board to board, so the floor looks natural rather than repetitive. The textured and embossed finish gives the planks a grain you can feel, and the bevelled edges outline each board. It pairs well with white and warm white walls, pale oak, stone and linen, and suits both cottage and contemporary homes.

Construction and specification

At 12mm, these planks sit at the thicker end of laminate, which gives a firmer and quieter feel underfoot than slimmer boards. The 4V bevel on every edge makes each plank stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism. The planks measure 196mm by 1215mm, long enough to run cleanly through a room with few joints. Each pack covers 1.43 m² of floor. The AC4 rating means the surface is tested for heavy domestic traffic and general commercial use, so it copes well with hallways and family rooms.

Where it works

Suitable rooms include conservatories, dining rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, kitchens and bathrooms. A mat by the front door will keep grit off the hallway, the busiest stretch in most homes. For stairs, pair it with laminate stair nosing so the edge of every step is protected. Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a click-fit laminate laid floating: the planks lock to each other rather than being fixed to the subfloor below. Choose the right underlay for laminate for your subfloor; it evens out minor bumps and cuts down noise. Add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. It is suitable for underfloor heating. Finish the edges of the room with scotia beading to cover the expansion gap.
