Rustic Natural Oak 220mm Engineered Plank

Rustic Natural Oak shows oak at its most characterful, with knots, grain swirls and colour changes left on display. It comes on wide 220mm Nevada planks, 2200mm long, brushed and oiled over a 3mm real oak top layer.

Look and character

The colour is a natural, warm mid oak, but the Rustic grade is what defines the look: plenty of knots, strong grain movement and noticeable variation from board to board. Brushing adds a tactile texture that emphasises the grain, and the oil keeps everything matt and natural. Wide, long boards give that character room to breathe, so the floor looks bold rather than busy. It suits barn conversions, farmhouse kitchens and modern rooms that want a strong natural material underfoot.

Construction and specification

Each plank is 14mm deep, with a 3mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. A multi-ply core does the structural work, keeping movement low when the room warms up or cools down. Each pack holds 2.904 m² of 220mm wide planks, 2200mm in length. All four edges carry a 4V bevel, which gives each plank a crisp outline across the room. Oil nourishes the timber from within and keeps a natural, matt feel; it benefits from a maintenance oil now and then.

Where it works

It is at home in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, and works in kitchens and conservatories with a little care. Mid-tone oak sits comfortably with most wall colours and furniture, from white to deep green. For stairs, pair it with stair nosing so each step has a clean, safe edge.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It is suitable for underfloor heating. You can glue it down or lay it floating; the tongue and groove edges join each board to the next. Use scotia beading along the skirting to cover the small gap the floor needs to move. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of your measured area for cutting and waste.
