Distressed Golden Oak 220mm Engineered Plank

Distressed Golden Oak is a warm, wide engineered plank from our New York range. Boards 220mm wide and 2200mm long carry a distressed golden oak face under a premium waxed oil finish.

Look and character

The colour is a warm golden oak that brings depth and richness to a room. Distressing highlights the grain, knots and individual markings of the wood, so the floor looks naturally aged rather than overly uniform, and the waxed oil deepens the golden tones while keeping a matt, tactile surface. On a wide plank those details have space to show, which suits living rooms, dining areas and open-plan spaces. It works in traditional and contemporary interiors alike, and pairs easily with neutral walls, natural materials and darker furniture.

Construction and specification

A 15/4mm build means 15mm in total, with 4mm of real oak forming the surface you walk on. Under the face is a cross-bonded multi-ply core, which is what lets an engineered plank cope with central heating better than a solid board of the same size. Each pack holds 2.904 m² of 220mm wide planks, 2200mm in length. All four edges carry a 4V bevel, adding definition and a board-by-board look. There is enough wood in a 4mm top layer to sand and refinish it more than once, and worn areas of an oiled floor can be re-oiled locally.

Where it works

Living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways are all good places for it, and it can also be used in kitchens and conservatories. For stairs, pair it with stair nosing so each step has a clean, safe edge.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It can be laid over underfloor heating; more choices are in our underfloor heating flooring collection. It is a tongue and groove board that can be glued down or floated over underlay, depending on your subfloor. For a floating installation, choose a flooring underlay that matches your subfloor. When you work out quantities, add around 10% for offcuts and waste.
