Smoked Oak 150mm Solid Plank

Smoked Oak is a warm, refined dark plank in solid oak, 18mm thick and 150mm wide. Smoking deepens the colour of the timber, and a brushed, UV lacquered surface brings out the grain while keeping the floor easy to care for.

Look and character

Next to our Double Smoked Oak, this is the less intense of the two, a warm dark tone that still lets the grain show clearly. The subtle brushed texture adds depth, and the UV lacquer forms a protective film against daily wear. The wide planks and random lengths give a balanced, natural layout, and Classic grade oak brings knots and grain movement that suit the smoked colour. It looks good against white walls, grey fabrics and black metal.

Construction and specification

Smoked Oak is 18mm of solid oak from top to bottom, with no plywood or fibreboard core. That matters over the long run: because the oak goes all the way through, the floor can be sanded back and refinished many more times than an engineered board, so it can be refreshed as it ages. The planks are 150mm wide in random lengths, and each pack covers 1.44 m².

Where it works

It is a floor for the main living spaces: lounges, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and conservatories, plus stairs with a matching stair nosing. As with any solid wood, keep it out of wet rooms. You can compare it with the rest of our solid oak plank floors.

Fitting

Smoked Oak can be fitted tongue and groove, glued down or nailed down, depending on your subfloor. Solid wood should be left to acclimatise in the room before fitting, and it is a job best done by an experienced fitter. Finish the edges with scotia beading, and add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. If you have underfloor heating, ask us to confirm suitability before ordering.
