Soft Dune Oak is a calm, sandy engineered plank from our Cambridge range. Its 1900mm boards carry a Rustic grade oak face under an invisible smooth oil, for a natural, barely-there finish.
The colour is a soft beige, like pale sand, with delicate grain detail and the knots and variation you expect from a Rustic grade board. The invisible oil keeps the surface looking almost untreated, with no sheen and no added colour, and the smooth finish feels soft underfoot. It is a gentle, restful floor that works in modern and traditional rooms alike, and it sits well with warm whites, oatmeal fabrics and light timber furniture.
Planks are 1900mm long, with 2.166 m² in each pack. A 2V bevel along the two long sides gives soft lines down the length of the floor without breaking it up at the ends. A 14/3mm build means 14mm in total, with 3mm of real oak forming the surface you walk on. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. The oil finish is easy to refresh: scuffed areas can be cleaned and re-oiled without sanding the whole room.
You can run it from the hallway into living and dining rooms, and use it in bedrooms, kitchens and conservatories too. Kitchens are fine with sensible care, such as mopping up splashes straight away and using a mat in front of the sink. It can go up the stairs as well, finished with matching stair nosing on each tread.
The boards join with a tongue and groove and can be laid floating over underlay or glued down to a prepared subfloor. Add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. Floating floors need the right underlay, and our flooring underlay range covers the common subfloors. It can be laid over underfloor heating; more choices are in our underfloor heating flooring collection.
You can have 3 large free samples. Light colours look different against every wall paint, so check a sample against yours.
This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
