Weathered Smoked Oak is a dark herringbone with an aged, time-worn look. Its 90mm blocks are engineered, 15mm thick, with a 4mm real oak top layer.
The colour is dark and smoky, with a weathered quality that softens the tone and brings the grain forward. A lacquered finish seals the surface, making it easy to look after. Classic grade oak includes some knots and variation. It suits traditional homes, character cottages and modern rooms where a dark, aged floor adds depth.
Each block is 15mm thick overall, with a 4mm real oak top layer bonded to a multi-ply base. That engineered core is what keeps the floor steady when the air in the room gets drier or more humid through the year. There is enough oak in a 4mm layer for a professional sand and refinish if the surface ever looks tired. A 90mm width with a 400mm length gives a balanced zigzag, less busy than small-block parquet and less bold than the wide formats. Bevels on all four edges (4V) frame each block and help the geometry stand out. Each pack covers 1.872 m².
Laid lengthways down a hallway, a herringbone draws the eye through the space. Use it through the main living spaces, bedrooms, the hallway, kitchen and conservatory, and on stairs. If you are continuing up the stairs, choose matching stair nosing for the tread edges. See more engineered oak herringbone floors if you want to compare. Kitchens are fine as long as spills are wiped up, because real oak is not waterproof.
Installation is tongue and groove, and your fitter can choose a floating or glue-down method. If you float it, choose a suitable flooring underlay first. It can be used over underfloor heating, and you'll find other options in our underfloor heating flooring collection. Order about 10% more than the measured area to allow for cuts at the edges. Matching scotia beading neatens the join at the skirting.

This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
