Brushed Tanned Oak 260mm Engineered Plank

Brushed Tanned Oak is one of our widest planks: a 260mm Nevada XL board in a warm, tanned mid-brown. Long 2200mm lengths and a brushed and oiled surface give it a relaxed, natural look on a large scale.

Look and character

The colour is like well-worn leather: a mid brown with a sun-warmed cast, deeper than natural oak but not dark. Brushing gives the grain a gentle texture, and the oil sinks in to leave a matt, natural surface. At this width each board shows a lot of its oak, so the grain patterns have space to run and there are far fewer joints across the room. Classic grade keeps knots small, which stops such wide boards looking busy. It is well suited to large living spaces, open-plan kitchens and rooms where you want the floor to feel generous.

Construction and specification

Each pack holds 2.86 m² of 260mm wide planks, 2200mm in length. A 2V bevel along the two long sides gives soft lines down the length of the floor without breaking it up at the ends. The board is 15mm thick overall, and the top 4mm is real oak. A multi-ply core does the structural work, keeping movement low when the room warms up or cools down. The oil finish is easy to refresh: scuffed areas can be cleaned and re-oiled without sanding the whole room.

Where it works

It suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways, and it can also be used in kitchens and conservatories. The same boards can continue onto the stairs, with stair nosing to finish each step.

Fitting and underfloor heating

You can glue it down or lay it floating; the tongue and groove edges join each board to the next. For a floating installation, choose a flooring underlay that matches your subfloor.
