London Invisible Oak 260mm Engineered Plank

At 260mm, this is the widest version of London Invisible Oak, made for larger rooms and open-plan spaces. The Nevada XL boards are 2200mm long, with a pale, untreated look protected by an invisible matt lacquer.

Look and character

The colour is the same soft, natural oak as the narrower board, free of the yellow tint that ordinary lacquers can add. What changes is the scale: an extra-wide board shows more of each piece of oak, so the grain reads in long, sweeping lines, and there are fewer joints across the room. Classic grade keeps knots small, so the width never looks busy. It suits big kitchen-diners, loft apartments and rooms with large windows, where the pale, low-sheen surface catches daylight without glare.

Construction and specification

Planks measure 260mm wide by 2200mm long, and each pack covers 2.86 m². A 2V bevel along the two long sides gives soft lines down the length of the floor without breaking it up at the ends. Each plank is 15mm deep, with a 4mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. The core is multi-ply, with layers running in opposite directions so the board stays flat through the seasons. The matt lacquer protects the wood while keeping the sheen low, so the floor looks closer to bare timber.

Where it works

Living and dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories are all good places for it. For stairs, pair it with stair nosing so each step has a clean, safe edge. Pale floors bounce light around, so it is a good pick for smaller or north-facing rooms.

Fitting and underfloor heating

You can glue it down or lay it floating; the tongue and groove edges join each board to the next. Around the edges, scotia beading neatly hides the expansion gap left at the skirting.
