Chestnut Lacquered Oak is a rich brown engineered plank in a slim 125mm width, from our Nevada range. Random lengths and a brushed lacquer finish give it the look of a traditional boarded floor with modern practicality.
The colour is a warm, reddish chestnut brown, deeper than natural oak and full of warmth. Brushing brings the grain to the surface, and the lacquer seals it with a soft sheen that makes the colour look richer. Narrow boards mean more lines across the floor, which gives a classic, detailed look that suits smaller rooms, period homes and long hallways. Classic grade oak keeps the knots modest, so the chestnut tone is what you notice first. It sits well with white skirting, cream walls and traditional furniture.
The board is 14mm thick overall, and the top 3mm is real oak. Under the face is a cross-bonded multi-ply core, which is what lets an engineered plank cope with central heating better than a solid board of the same size. Being lacquered, the surface is sealed and low-maintenance: sweep, then clean with a damp, well-wrung mop. It comes 125mm wide in mixed lengths, packed to cover 1.8 m² per pack. All four edges carry a 4V bevel, which gives each plank a crisp outline across the room.
A deep floor colour grounds a room and sets off pale walls, brass and warm lighting. It is at home in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, and works in kitchens and conservatories with a little care. It can go up the stairs as well, finished with matching stair nosing on each tread.
You can glue it down or lay it floating; the tongue and groove edges join each board to the next. It is suitable for underfloor heating. For a floating installation, choose a flooring underlay that matches your subfloor. Allow roughly 10% extra on top of your measured area for cutting and waste.
Screens rarely show deep colours accurately, so look at a real board in your own room first. You can order up to 3 large free samples.
This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
