Natural Brushed & Oiled Oak 125mm Engineered Plank

Natural Brushed & Oiled Oak in the 125mm width is a traditional, narrow-board engineered floor from our Nevada range. Random lengths and a brushed, UV oiled surface give it texture and an honest natural colour.

Look and character

This is oak as most people picture it: a warm, mid natural tone with straight and gently figured grain. Brushing removes some of the softer wood between the grain lines, so you can feel the texture underfoot and see more depth in the surface. The UV oil keeps the colour natural and the sheen low. Classic grade means small knots and some colour variation, without heavy rustic features. The narrow boards and random end joints create a detailed, classic look that suits Victorian and Edwardian houses and smaller rooms.

Construction and specification

Each plank is 14mm deep, with a 3mm real oak top layer bonded to the core. Beneath it sits a multi-ply base of cross-laid layers, which resists the swelling and shrinking that solid boards can suffer as heating and humidity change. Planks are 125mm wide in random lengths, and each pack covers 1.8 m². Slim boards give a detailed, classic floor with plenty of joint lines. A small bevel on all four edges (4V) outlines every board, so the planks read individually and minor height differences are hidden. Oil nourishes the timber from within and keeps a natural, matt feel; it benefits from a maintenance oil now and then.

Where it works

Living and dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories are all good places for it. For stairs, pair it with stair nosing so each step has a clean, safe edge.

Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a tongue and groove board that can be glued down or floated over underlay, depending on your subfloor. It can be laid over underfloor heating; more choices are in our underfloor heating flooring collection. Order about 10% more than the floor area to cover cuts and waste. Finish the room edges with scotia beading to cover the expansion gap.
