Natural Brushed & Oiled Oak 125mm Solid Plank

Natural Brushed & Oiled Oak is an 18mm solid oak plank in a versatile 125mm width. Its brushed and oiled surface keeps the natural colour of the oak on show, giving a warm, textured floor that suits both period and modern homes.

Look and character

This is oak in its natural mid tone: warm, honest and easy to live with. Brushing takes away the softer wood between the grain lines, so the texture stands out to the touch and the eye, and the oil finish soaks in to protect the timber while keeping a matt, natural look. Classic grade boards show a mix of grain and some knots, adding interest without looking rustic. The 125mm width is a good middle ground: wider than a traditional strip floor but still in proportion in smaller rooms.

Construction and specification

Natural Brushed & Oiled Oak is 18mm of solid oak from top to bottom, with no plywood or fibreboard core. That matters over the long run: because the oak goes all the way through, the floor can be sanded back and refinished many more times than an engineered board, so it can be refreshed as it ages. The planks are 125mm wide in random lengths, and each pack covers 1.2 m².

Where it works

Hallways, dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and conservatories are the natural home for Natural Brushed & Oiled Oak. If the floor continues up the stairs, finish each step with stair nosing. Other options sit in our range of solid oak plank floors.

Fitting

There are three ways to lay it: tongue and groove, glue down or nail down. Your fitter will choose based on the subfloor and the room. Allow roughly 10% extra for cuts and waste. Around the edges, scotia beading covers the expansion gap neatly. For underfloor heating, please check with us and we will confirm before you order. Use the right wood floor care products to look after the finish.
