Natural Lacquered Oak 125mm Solid Plank

Natural Lacquered Oak is a classic solid oak plank: 18mm thick, 125mm wide and finished with a clear lacquer. It keeps the natural mid-oak colour and gives a smooth, sealed surface that is simple to look after.

Look and character

Lacquer forms a protective coat on top of the wood, so the surface feels smooth and wipes clean easily, which suits busy family rooms and hallways. The oak underneath keeps its natural warm colour and grain pattern, with the knots and variation of a Classic grade board. At 125mm wide, the planks sit comfortably in most rooms, and a 4V bevel gives each one a clearly defined edge. It suits traditional and modern furniture alike.

Construction and specification

At 18mm, this is a substantial solid oak floor. Every plank is real oak all the way through, which is the key difference from engineered flooring: when the surface eventually shows wear, it can be sanded and refinished again, and more times than an engineered board allows. The planks measure 125mm across in random lengths, and a pack covers 1.2 m².

Natural Lacquered Oak suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and conservatories, and it can run up the stairs with matching stair nosing on each tread. Fitting

Natural Lacquered Oak can be fitted tongue and groove, glued down or nailed down, depending on your subfloor. Solid wood should be left to acclimatise in the room before fitting, and it is a job best done by an experienced fitter. Finish the edges with scotia beading, and add about 10% to your room size for cuts and waste. If you have underfloor heating, ask us to confirm suitability before ordering.
