Frozen Oak is a cool-toned oak herringbone with a softly weathered look, combining muted brown and grey tones with darker grain detail. The compact 80mm blocks give it the traditional proportions of classic parquet flooring, while the natural variation between each piece adds depth and character across the finished floor. The blocks are 18mm thick with a 3mm real oak top layer.
Frozen Oak has a distinctive greige-brown tone that sits between natural oak and deeper smoked shades, making it easy to pair with both warm and cool interior schemes. Darker grain lines, knots and subtle colour variation give the floor a more aged, characterful appearance without making it feel overly rustic. The result is a versatile herringbone floor that can add contrast to pale walls and cabinetry or complement darker, more traditional furnishings.
Its tonal variation is one of the floor’s strongest features. Rather than creating a flat, uniform surface, the individual blocks work together to produce a layered look that brings out the herringbone pattern and gives larger spaces more visual interest.
At 80mm wide and 300mm long, Frozen Oak uses compact blocks to create the close-set proportions associated with traditional parquet flooring. The 18/3mm construction means each block is 18mm thick overall, with a 3mm real oak top layer providing the natural grain and texture visible on the surface.
Its engineered construction is designed to give greater dimensional stability than solid wood as temperature and humidity levels change through the year. The 3mm oak wear layer also gives the floor the potential to be professionally sanded and refinished if the surface needs refreshing later in its life.
Frozen Oak works particularly well in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and open-plan spaces, where the herringbone pattern has room to make an impact. Its balanced combination of cooler tones and natural oak character also makes it a strong option for bedrooms, kitchens and contemporary extensions. In kitchens, spills should be wiped up promptly, as real wood flooring is not waterproof.
The versatile colour makes Frozen Oak easy to build a scheme around. Pair it with warm neutrals and natural textures for a softer look, or use it alongside white walls, dark cabinetry and black detailing for greater contrast. Explore our herringbone floors in engineered wood to compare alternative colours and finishes. If you are continuing the flooring onto stairs, complete the installation with suitable stair nosing.
For the best result, carefully plan the herringbone layout before fitting so the pattern remains balanced through the room and around key features. Allow approximately 10% extra flooring above the measured area to account for perimeter cuts, pattern alignment and wastage.
If Frozen Oak shares the same tongue-and-groove construction and underfloor-heating compatibility as the rest of this range, it can be installed using the appropriate fitting method and paired with suitable installation accessories. Our flooring underlay and scotia beading ranges can help complete the installation.
Frozen Oak contains natural tonal and grain variation, and its colour can look noticeably different depending on daylight, artificial lighting and surrounding furnishings. This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
