Light Brown Oak Herringbone 12mm Laminate

Light Brown Oak Herringbone is a fresh, light brown parquet-style laminate that brings classic pattern to a room without darkening it. The 100mm blocks give a traditional herringbone on a hard-wearing 12mm board.

Look and character

The colour is a light brown oak, warmer than a pale Scandinavian shade but still bright and open. It gives a room gentle warmth, and the herringbone layout adds pattern and movement as the light moves across the blocks. The textured and embossed surface adds grain underfoot. It is a flexible colour for open-plan spaces, sitting well with white or cream walls, sage and soft blue accents, and light or mid-toned wooden furniture.

Construction and specification

Being 12mm thick, each block gives a reassuring, solid step and a calmer sound underfoot compared with thinner laminate. Each pack covers 1.92 m² of floor. Each block is 100mm wide and 600mm long, laid in a zigzag to form the herringbone. An AC4 wear rating tells you the surface is made for high-traffic domestic areas as well as general commercial use. The 4V bevel on every edge makes each block stand out slightly from its neighbours, which adds realism.

Where it works

This floor suits conservatories, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, hallways and bathrooms. Kitchens are fine as long as spills are wiped up quickly rather than left to sit on the joints. For stairs, pair it with laminate stair nosing so the edge of every step is protected. Fitting and underfloor heating

It is a click-fit laminate laid floating: the blocks lock to each other rather than being fixed to the subfloor below. Choose the right underlay for laminate for your subfloor; it evens out minor bumps and cuts down noise. Allow around 10% extra for cuts and waste; a herringbone layout creates more offcuts at the edges of the room.
