In larger 125mm blocks, Pale Invisible Oak gives a bold herringbone pattern in a light, near-raw oak colour. It is a 14mm engineered floor with a 3mm real oak top layer.
The colour is pale natural oak. The invisible matt lacquer is designed to look like untreated timber, adding almost no colour or shine while still sealing the surface. Classic grade oak includes some knots and natural variation. With the larger block, the pattern feels calm and spacious, which suits contemporary open-plan rooms.
The build is 14mm in total, made up of a 3mm layer of real oak over cross-laid plywood. A multi-ply base gives a more stable floor than solid oak of the same look, and that matters in a pattern where every joint is on show. A 3mm oak layer can be lightly sanded and refinished by a professional if the surface ever needs refreshing. The blocks are 125mm wide and 600mm long, a larger format that gives a bolder zigzag with fewer joints across the room. The 4V bevelled edges give each block a fine shadow line on all four sides. One pack lays 1.2 m².
It is suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and conservatories, and it can be used on stairs too. On stairs, finish each tread with stair nosing. Herringbone runs well from room to room, so it can link a hall, kitchen and living space in one pattern. In a kitchen, mop up spills promptly, as real oak is not waterproof. Our herringbone floors in engineered wood include more colours and sizes to compare.
Installation is tongue and groove, and your fitter can choose a floating or glue-down method. For a floating fit, start with the right underlay for wood floors. Order about 10% more than the measured area to allow for cuts at the edges. Underfloor heating is fine with this floor; browse more underfloor heating flooring if you are comparing. Scotia beading gives a tidy finish where the floor meets the skirting.
Colour and grain vary from block to block, so it pays to see Pale Invisible Oak at home before you buy. Order up to 3 large free samples, or call us on 0121 274 8575 and we can help you choose.
This product features a Tongue & Groove installation system. It can be floated over an underlay or fully bonded to the subfloor.
